We can bandage an elephant leg if given the chance. Sock knitting machines are limited to the diameter of a sock that can be knit by the cylinder size, but that doesn’t stop us from creating socks to fit large legs and go over large hooves. If you can sew, we’ve provided instructions here at no cost that can help you build them from Silver Whinnys to your own “big thing”, or we can make them for you. Our Custom Pull-Over Socks
We make custom socks to fit your horse. We ask that you submit a completed measuring chart of the legs because fit is important. Compression is not our goal. We seek to offer a safe, light, resting compression and that is all. Taping helps protect the socks from going under the hoof and being destroyed or helping to keep the socks over a area of wound or dermatitis. Our goal is to protect your horse with a barrier/bandage that keeps bacteria and fungi out, not to provide a “therapeutic” compression.
